Dokumentavgift (Norwegian document/stamp duty on property)

Dokumentavgift is Norway's document duty: 2.5 % of the purchase price when you buy a freehold (selveier) home, minimum 250 kr; co-op (borettslag) shares are exempt.

Dokumentavgift is a 2.5% document duty on the price when you buy a selveier home, paid to Kartverket, with a 545 kr registration fee on top. A borettslag is exempt and pays only a small transfer fee. Budget for it as cash on top of your equity.
