Fellesgjeld (joint debt of the housing co-op)
Fellesgjeld is the co-op's shared loan in Norway; your share is added to the asking price and is paid through the monthly felleskostnader.
Fellesgjeld is the borettslag’s shared debt, and as a buyer you take on your share of it through the felleskostnader. The real price of the home is the purchase price plus your share of the joint debt, the total price, not the asking price alone. High joint debt means a rate rise can push the felleskostnader up, so check the cooperative’s finances.
