Avhendingslova (Norway's Sale of Property Act)
The Norwegian Sale of Property Act protects you as a consumer buyer: blanket "as is" clauses have no effect, and you can complain about defects for up to 5 years.
Avhendingslova is the Norwegian act that governs the sale of an existing home between private parties. Since 2022 a general ‘sold as is’ reservation has no effect in a consumer purchase, and the seller has a duty to disclose what they knew. You still have a duty to inspect, so a defect you should have spotted is your risk. The absolute deadline to complain about a defect is five years.
