P-rom (primary rooms)

P-rom, primærrom, was the part of the home used for living, such as the living room, kitchen, bedrooms, and bathroom. S-rom, secondary rooms, were storerooms and other utility spaces. Together they made up the usable area, and listings used to give P-rom as the measure of how large a home was. From 1 January 2024, P-rom and S-rom have been phased out; instead the internal usable area is reported as BRA-i, which in practice covers the same living area without the old split between primary and secondary rooms. As a buyer, you will still meet P-rom in older listings and surveys, so when you compare an old and a new listing, read the BRA-i against the old P-rom figure to avoid comparing two different measures.
