Lokkepris (bait pricing)

Lokkepris is when the asking price (prisantydning) is deliberately set below what the seller is actually willing to accept, to pull more bidders to the viewing. It is banned under the marketing act: the asking price must reflect a price the seller is genuinely willing to sell for. A final price that ends up above the asking price in a hot bidding round is normal and is not lokkepris. As a buyer, treat the prisantydning as a starting point, work out the total price and your own ceiling before the bidding round, and a low asking price will not change what you actually bid.
