NS 3600 (condition-analysis standard)

NS 3600 is the Norwegian standard that sets out how a technical condition analysis of a home is carried out for a sale: what must be examined, how deviations are graded with condition grades, and what the report must contain. From 1 July 2026, the NS 3600:2025 edition is the only permitted standard for such condition analyses at a home sale, which makes reports more uniform so one condition report is easier to compare with another. As a buyer you do not need to know the standard, but it helps to know that a report following NS 3600 gives you condition grades and a systematic review, so read what has been examined and what has not.
